Write Your Novel Here
National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Writing begins on November 1. The goal is to write a 50,000-word (approximately 175-page) novel by 11:59:59 PM on November 30. Participants sign up for an account at the NaNoWri website and when November begins you can send your writing to the website where the words will be counted. If you reach the 50,000 word goal by the end of November you will have a novel on the website. As you spend November writing, you can draw comfort from the fact that, all around the world, other National Novel Writing Month participants are going through the same joys and sorrows of producing the Great Frantic Novel. Wrimos meet throughout the month to offer encouragement and commiseration. The library will be hosting two events. The first is on Saturday, November 3 from 2-4 PM and the second is on Saturday, November 17 from 2-4 PM. At those events we will be providing computers for those who need them, coffee and access to a collection of books about writing to help with any technical issues. The idea is to provide a place of support and encouragement for an activity that is usually solitary. Please join us. Space is limited, so registration is required. Please contact Barbara Gordon at 973-538-2592 to register.
