This beginners program is for seniors with little or no experience using computers. The seven week series will begin with learning mouse skills and will include instruction in windows management, the keyboard, the internet, and email. This program is designed with beginners in mind and will include lots of review. Registration is required and is for the whole seven week program. Registration begins on Monday, January 7. The Youth Advisory Council (Y.A.C.) is a library group that meets monthly for teens between 6th and 12th grade. We want your opinion on a variety of library decisions!

Y.A.C. gives you an opportunity to have your voice heard. Y.A.C. participants get to recommend books, movies, music and more. You will also have a say on what programs and events are held for teens.  The time you spend at Y.A.C. meetings can count as volunteer hours.  Come on by for one of our meetings and see for yourself!

Who said libraries are always quiet? The library is offering a series this spring featuring an author, a film and a set of performers tied to the history and ongoing influence that is rock ‘n’ roll. This first program is A History of Rock ‘n’ Roll as Seen Through Fiction.

Author and journalist William Westhoven will examine the history of the genre through the lens of literary fiction. Westhoven has covered the performing arts as a newspaperman, but has also written his own fiction on the subject including One-Hit Willie: A Classic Rock Novel.

Author William WesthovenWilliam Westhoven is an award-winning journalist, editor and newspaper columnist who has covered the performing arts since 1989. Recently laid off from his newspaper job, his recent freelance work has been featured in Guitar World Online and the Huffington Post. His interview subjects range from show-business legends such as Bob Hope, Dick Clark, BB King and Les Paul to dozens of Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees. His columns and reviews have won both state and national honors, including seven first-place awards from the New Jersey Press Association for Critical Writing. He is the author of  Eric Clapton: Career of a Rock Legend (Zinn Publishing Group/Barclay House Books, 1996). One-Hit Willie: A Classic Rock Novel is his first novel.
