Rock 'n' Roll at the Library
Thursday February 21, 2013
7:00 PM Who said libraries are always quiet? The library is offering a series this spring featuring an author, a film and a set of performers tied to the history and ongoing influence that is rock ‘n’ roll. The last program in the library's Rock 'n' Roll series is the showing of the iconic and critically-acclaimed, Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night.
A Hard Day’s Night follows a ‘typical’ day in the life (or should it be ‘A Day in the Life’?!) of the Fab Four during the height of their super stardom. Unusual for a Rock ‘n’ Roll film, it did well at the box office, but also was (and still is) a critic favorite and allegedly spawned not only The Monkees television series, but many copycat music videos for more than a generation. Not to mention of course, the film featured many of the Beatles’ early 1960s signature songs! Come and view the film with other fans to gauge its influence and importance today. Catch a glimpse of the trailer at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058182/
This program is supported through funding from the Friends of the Morristown & Morris Township Library.
