Affordable Care Act Info

Affordable Care Act Info Session

Tuesday January 28, 2014
5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Counselors from the United Way of Passaic County will be at the Library to educate people about the health insurance marketplace and their insurance options. If needed, they can enroll people in a qualified healthcare plan. These are drop-in sessions.

Confused by the Affordable Care Act and to whom it applies or how to enroll? Are you looking for affordable health insurance? 901,290 people in New Jersey are currently without health insurance and need to purchase a plan. The health insurance marketplaces are now open to consumers, however, the majority of Americans still do not understand it and how it will affect them. The marketplaces allow people to shop for insurance, find out whether they qualify for federal subsidies, and enroll in a health plan. Many individuals and families will qualify for lower costs on monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs through the marketplace.

The United Way is working with community non-profits, faith-based organizations, retail and commercial locations, and United Way Logoschools to help New Jersey residents who need affordable health insurance. Certified Application Counselors will work one-on-one with individuals, families and/or small business owners and walk them through the whole enrollment process and go over each plan’s cost and payment options with side by side comparisons.

Additional sessions available in February, please click here to see dates.

Let's Spend the Night Together: An Evening Book Club

Tuesday January 28, 2014
7:00 PM
The library is pleased to announce the start of our new evening book club. Please join us as we discuss Unbroken by Laura Hildebrand.

Unbroken tells the gripping true story of a U.S. airman who was the soul surviver when his bomber crashed into the sea during World War II and had to face thousands of miles of open ocean, leaping sharks, a foundering raft, thirst and starvation, enemy aircraft, and, beyond, a trial even greater.
