Confused by the Affordable Care Act and to whom it applies or how to enroll? Are you looking for affordable health insurance? 901,290 people in New Jersey are currently without health insurance and need to purchase a plan. The health insurance marketplaces are now open to consumers, however, the majority of Americans still do not understand it and how it will affect them. The marketplaces allow people to shop for insurance, find out whether they qualify for federal subsidies, and enroll in a health plan. Many individuals and families will qualify for lower costs on monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs through the marketplace.

The United Way is working with community non-profits, faith-based organizations, retail and commercial locations, andUnited Way Logo schools to help New Jersey residents who need affordable health insurance. Certified Application Counselors will work one-on-one with individuals, families and/or small business owners and walk them through the whole enrollment process and go over each plan’s cost and payment options with side by side comparisons.
