En Garde, My Battle with Breast Cancer
The book describes and clarifies the treatment steps she encountered, allowing patients to demystify the steps involved in their treatment, thereby calming apprehensions about the unknown.
En Garde introduces the technique of Visualization to manage the fear and anxiety associated with the cancer experience. This visualization introduces Percy Puddlethorpe, Ronnie's own imaginary hero who brought comfort and companionship throughout radiation treatments. The book is written honestly with humor and warmth.
Ronnie is co-editor of Goldfinch magazine, the annual literary magazine of Women Who Write. She leads the Madison Group of that group's chapters throughout New Jersey. Ronnie's background as a speech therapist, biofeedback trainer and Director of Power Presentations, the company that taught public speaking techniques to executives, prepared her to deal compassionately with the fears and anguish of others.
Refreshments will be served.
