When illness prevents Shoko from traveling to Japan, she asks Sue to go in her place. The trip reveals family secrets that change their lives in dramatic and unforeseen ways.

This program has been rescheduled from Feb. 26. About fifteen years went by between Thomas Edison’s first commercial sales of moving pictures and Cecil B. DeMille’s journey to Hollywood. During that time New Jersey was pretty much the film capital of America. Join author and silent film enthusiast Kate Gallison as she guides us on a tour of the silent movie era – much of which was centered in New Jersey – showing motion pictures from the archives of the Library of Congress.  Read more...
