This presentation by Joe Macasek, President of the Canal Society of NJ, will focus on the former Rockaway Valley Railroad, a shortline railway that provided a commercial link for Mendham, Brookside and Morris Township. Because of its poor construction, train cars often teetered from side to side and it became known as "The Rock-a-bye Baby". The old trackbed is used today as part of the Patriots Path recreational trail.  Read more...
