Protecting Natural and Historic Places

Protecting Natural and Historic Places
This lecture series is presented by the library in conjunction with the Morris County Trust for Historic Preservation. The natural and built environments together support each other, and every aspect of our lives. That's why we preserve historic resources and protect natural spaces. The series, running from April through October, features top-notch speakers in both fields, offering our community a new understanding of these local riches.

Several of the talks will take place during the library's Landscape Architecture Exhibit, “Gardens and Grounds by Three North New Jersey Landscape Designers,” on display in the Kirby Gallery, April 4 through June 30.

What Are Historic Preservation Commissions All About?   Thursday, July 21, 2016

The Morris County Trust for Historic Preservation is a service organization for the New Jersey historic preservation community. Since 1978, they have offered help to the stewards of this state's historic and cultural resources, participated in the implementation of state and federal historic preservation law, advised municipalities throughout northern New Jersey in their formal preservation processes, and helped to educate the community about the value and conservation of their historic assets.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission and from the Friends of the Morristown & Morris Township Library.
