Obituaries and Beyond: Using Newspapers for Genealogical Research Tues. Sept 3 Morris County Library 7 PM

The Morris Area Genealogy Society is sponsoring this program which will be presented by The Morristown & Township Library's North Jersey History and Genealogy Center staff members Carolyn Dorsey and Cheryl Turkington. (Please note: This lecture is NOT being held at the Morristown & Morris Township Library)

Newspapers are one of the best and most underused resources in genealogical research. They are often used by genealogists, mainly as a source of obituaries, but there is so much more family information to be found in old newspapers.  Learn strategies to maximize your family research skills using the materials at the North Jersey History & Genealogy Center.  This program is open and free to the public.

The Morris County Library is located at 30 East Hanover Ave. Whippany, NJ.
