Harper is used to
Always getting what she wants
But not this summer.
If you're looking for a light quick, end of summer read than look no further than Summer State of Mind.
Harper McAllister plans to spend another summer shopping at the mall. But then a mega-credit card bill comes and her parents ship her off to sleepaway camp. But Harper doesn't know or understand the unspoken rules, or even some of the spoken ones, leaving her looking stupid when she's used to being one of the most popular girls in school.
And then she meets Ethan who's been going to Whispering Pines for years. Summer starts to look up.
I know this sounds like a million other books. But it's fun and quick. I'm sure by now you're all tired of reading for summer homework and this is basically the opposite of any book that you'd ever have to read for school. It's light and airy and easy.
There's also a mix of epistolary elements like tweets and emails which make it even faster to read. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for one last grasp at summer.
