Justin and Emmy
Takes turns telling us about
summer at Heartland.
Heartland Academy is basically a reform school. They prefer you'd call it something else, like therapeutic or second chance.
Emmy lands herself there for bullying (and other stuff) and Justin lands himself there after his dad finds him with a girl (and other stuff). They both have a lot to learn about themselves before they can level up and earn rewards. Even little rewards like talking on the phone to their siblings.
I think the moral of this story is really about how everyone has problems. That no one is alone in their issues. Everyone doesn't have the same issues, but they're all there, no matter how put together someone looks on the surface. If you're feeling weighed down by the world around you, then I would highly recommend A Really Awesome Mess. Or even if you're not feeling weighed down, it's still a good story.
