Carter thinks too much
About girls and being cool
but he'll be okay.
Will "Carter" Carter (he knows it's a lazy nickname), is about to start his freshman year of high school. He can barely talk to girls without becoming a stuttering mess and he can barely focus long enough to do even a little homework. He wants to do well in school, get a girlfriend, win football games, but it's all harder than it looks.
This book made me LLOL (Literally Laugh Out Loud) at least 10 times. I read it several years ago and then I just recently listened to the audio book version. I was on a plane, people looked at me. That's how loudly I was laughing.
The characters in this book are all realistic and you'll probably find yourself reflected in at least one of them. Even Carter's parents are cool without being cartoon-y or trying to hard. If you're looking for contemporary realistic fiction that's hilarious and completely believe then you should definitely give Carter Finally Gets It a try. And of course there's already a sequel, Carter's Big Break.
