What would you do with 2.5 million dollars? Indigo Skye is put to that very test in this book. If you've ever dreamed of striking it rich, then I'd highly recommend this book. And even if you haven't, it's still a good read!
Indigo Skye is your average high school senior. She's 18, she loves her job waitressing and she's ready to be out of high school. She has no plans to continue her schooling. She just wants to be a waitress, hang out with her boyfriend, Trevor, and throw her cares away.
What better way to throw your cares away than to have a mysterious customer leave you a $2.5 MILLION DOLLAR tip? Suddenly Indigo can actually do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. No more begging rides off her mom, no more worries about how to put her twin brother through college and no her the muffler on Trevor's car can get fixed!
Of course, things are way more complicated than all that. Money makes things complicated. Indigo feels pulled in too many directions. They people she really wants to help (like her mom) refuse to take any money and the people she doesn't want to constantly be handing money to (like Trevor) assume that she's their new personal ATM machine. Indigo needs to learn fast how to strike a balance between living well and helping other people out. And even helping herself from time to time.
If you're looking for a book that isn't too heavy, but will definitely make you think, then check out Indigo Skye.
