U.S. Citizenship Exam Classes 6:30 PM
U.S. Citizenship Exam Classes
Free classes for the the U.S. Citizenship Exam will be taught by JVS (Jewish Vocational Services) at the Library this summer from July 10-September 13 at 6:30 pm in the Technology Lab. Prepare for the Citizenship exam by learning about the N400 form, American Civics and American History. Space is limited and you must register. A Green Card is necessary to register. Tonight's book will be How to Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry. The enchanting story of a book shop, its grieving owner, a supportive literary community, and the extraordinary power of books to heal the heart. Nightingale Books, nestled on the main street in an idyllic little village, is a dream come true for book lovers--a cozy haven and welcoming getaway for the literary-minded locals. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open after her beloved father's death, and the temptation to sell is getting stronger.

We will meet at 45 Maccculloch Avenue in the museum's rear garden Wednesdays at noon. Bring your lunch, a blanket to sit on, and hear some stories. In case of rain, we will meet inside Macculloch Hall. For Ages 2-6. This program will run form July 11th through August 30th.

Chess Club 7:00 PM
Chess Club
Join us for chess on the third Thursday of the month starting in January 2018 and running through June. The group will meet from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. upstairs in the F.M. Kirby Gallery. We will enjoy friendly, non-competitive, short games of chess between players of all skill levels. Improve your game, make new friends and enjoy playing chess! Players of all ages are welcome to play as long as they know the rules. Please bring your own chess board, pieces, and time clock. Games will be between 20-30 minutes as agreed upon between players.

Back by popular demand for a 14th year! Join us July 13th & 20th for two Friday nights of “Jazz in July”. On July 20th we will enjoy a quintet playing and singing all of your favorite Jazz Standards. This group will consist of: pianist Bob McHugh; Tony Signa on saxophone and flute; bassist Bill Moring; drummer David Humm; and vocalist Bill Robinson. Hum along to these popular tunes and be transported to the golden age of Jazz!

Tickets for both events are $20 at the door each night and all proceeds benefit the Library. No advance ticket sales available. Refreshments will be served. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Morristown and Morris Township Library.

Third Annual Library Photo Contest 2018
Share your photos of the vibrant businesses of Morristown & Morris Township!

The North Jersey History & Genealogy Center invites interested persons to enter our third photo contest. Celebrate our community through the art of photography, and contribute to the Library's local history picture collection.

All 2018 contest entries must feature a Morristown or Morris Township business. Your submission should be a clearly identifiable image of an interior or exterior place of business.

Adult Summer Reading Club: Libraries Rock!
Not that it's news to you, but Libraries Rock! Which is the perfect theme for this year's Summer Reading Club. Why should kids have all the fun? Sign up for the library's Adult Summer Reading Club and you’ll get a gift just for joining! The only requirement is to read or listen to books of any kind - that’s it! Sign up begins on Monday, July 2 at the Circulation or Reader's Advisor desks. Fill out a slip for every book you read or listen to and you will be entered into our weekly prize drawing. Enter to win lots of great prizes all summer long. Club runs until August 31.

Friends of Foote's Pond Wood Gallery Exhibition

Friends of Foote's Pond Wood Gallery Exhibition
This exhibit is a joint effort of The Friends of Foote's Pond Wood and the North Jersey History and Genealogy Center of the Morristown & Morris Township Library. The show will cover the history, ecology, recreational activities and wildlife of Foote's Pond Wood, located in Morristown on James Street. There will be beautiful photographs, maps, artwork and more illustrating these topics as well as informative captions and articles. A reception for the event will be held on the evening of June 27 in the F.M. Kirby Gallery. We hope you can attend and meet the creative folks who put this exhibit together!
