LIVING WITH PRIDE: Pride Month Film Series: BPM (Beats Per Minutes)/(120 Battements Par Minute)
The Library is pleased to announce our 2nd Annual “Pride Month Film Series” for 2018. Airing Thursday nights this June at 7pm, and centered on the theme “Living with PRIDE,” these four films from the U.S. and overseas celebrate the spectrum and diversity of the LGBTQ+ experience.

Our final movie in the series, on Thursday, June 28, will be BPM (Beats Per Minute), a “sprawling, thrilling, finally heart-bursting group portrait of Parisian AIDS activists in the early 1990s.” (Variety) Winner of 38 awards, including the prestigious Palme d’Or at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, this film has been described as a “film about love. A film about life. Life stronger than death. A film as a glimpse of hope.” (France, 2017, 2:23, Not Rated)

Free Assistive Technology Classes Available at the Library
If you are 55 or older with a vision change, free assistive technology classes are now available to you in the library. This program is provided by The New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI) as part of the Library Equal Access Program (LEAP) for New Jersey residents 55 and older who have experienced a change in vision. The Commission supports FREE iPad and computer training classes through Advancing Opportunities. The next session of classes will take place this March through June, at eight public libraries around the state, including the Morristown & Morris Township Library.

To register & for more information, please call Advancing Opportunities, Assistive Technology Services, 888-322-1918, extension 501 or send an email to jnigl@advopps.org.  At the phone number, you will receive voicemail. In your phone message or email, please leave your name, phone number and the best time to reach you. If you have a cellphone, leave that number as well. Please be aware that there is much interest in these classes, so the volume of calls and emails will be high. It may take several days for your message to be returned.  Due to limited seating for these classes, only registered participants will be able to attend.
