The North Jersey History & Genealogy Center owns the papers, records and manuscript materials of individuals and organizations from the Northern New Jersey area.  Links to the finding aids for each individual collection are listed under the following subject headings.  A finding aid describes and lists the contents of a specific collection and is meant to be a guide for the researcher.  Researchers may access the contents of these collections in the North Jersey History & Genealogy Center Reading Room.

The Dustan Family Papers chronicles a prominent Morristown family whose veterinary practice spanned two generations.

Greene, M. Louise Photograph Collection, circa 1911-1935
M. Louise Greene was one of Morristown’s first women business owners. Between the years of 1910-1914 she owned and operated a photographic studio on Speedwell Avenue.

Henry W. Pilch Collection, ca.1724-1986.
Expansive collection documenting land ownership in Northern New Jersey (primarily Morris County) and many families who lived there from the early 18th to late 20th century.

Hibernia Underground Railroad Records, 1889-1894
Records of the narrow gauge railroad that took iron ore from inside a mountain in Hibernia (Rockaway Township, New Jersey), to the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western platform at Dover and Rockaway Junction.

Inventory of Landscape Architecture plans by the Firm of Brinley and Holbrook, 1896-1929.
Brinley & Holbrook was a landscape architecture firm founded in 1901 by John Brinley and John Holbrook, and known for their picturesque design plans. This collection contains over 2,000 items consisting of landscape architecture drawings and plans, building and garden sketches, horticulture plans, and photographs by Brinley & Holbrook from 1896 to 1929.

Miscellaneous Manuscripts Index 1691-2011
Miscellaneous Manuscripts Collection contains smaller or single-item collections that are unrelated by provenance. The collection spans the years 1691 to 2011 and is arranged alphabetically. Content varies widely, but primarily centers around the Morris County vicinity and New Jersey.

Morris Area Environmental Action Reports, 1995-2003.
The collection contains environmental action reports detailing the remedial investigations performed for Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) in the Morristownarea between 1995-2003. The sites include: a former Morristown manufactured gas site and the Goldere Junkyard on Coal Street and, for the Hanover Compressor Station Upgrade in Florham Park.

Mount Hope Mining Company Records, ca.1900-2015
Records related to one of New Jersey's longest operating iron mines, which supplied ammunition for the Revolutionary War and steel during World War II.
